This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-free point on the N coast of Snow Island in the South Shetland Islands situated 2.5 km WNW of Karposh Point, and 2.5 km ESE of Cape Timblón. British mapping in 1968. Named after the Bulgar ruler Khan Gostun, predecessor of the creator of Old Great Bulgaria Khan Kubrat (7th Century AD).
